Ronaldo goal v Roma strikingly similar to goal he scored for Man United years previous

19th February 2016 by danielm

Cristiano Ronaldo's opening goal in Real Madrid's 2-0 Champions League victory over Roma on Wednesday evening bore a striking resemblance to a goal he'd scored earlier in his career for Manchester United. The discovery was made yesterday thanks to an eagle-eyed user of the popular social networking site Reddit. Executing his trademarked 'Ronaldo chop' move, the 31-year-old cut inside the Roma defence to score a deflected shot that looped over the helpless Wojciech Szczesny. In a very similar goal scored for previous club Manchester United in their 4-0 Champions League win over Dynamo … [Read more...]

Now with a clash against Roma up next, Navas will undoubtedly have to be at his best and one can expect the 29-year old to be busy at the Stadio Olimpico on the night. Defence Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos look certainties to be starting in central defence for the clash while Dani Carvajal should occupy his place in the right … [Read more...]

Real Madrid Probable Lineup vs Athletic Club: Bale, Pepe, Danilo and Marcelo missing

11th February 2016 by sarads

Venue: Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid Date: 13/02/2016 Kick-off: 03:00 PM GMT / 10:00 AM EST Goalkeeper While Luka Modric earned all the plaudits for Real Madrid’s hard fought 2-1 victory over Granada last weekend, it would be unfair not to acknowledge the role of goalkeeper Keylor Navas in the triumph. The Costa Rican made numerous key saves throughout the course of the match and he will surely have to play a big role once again if Madrid are to claim a victory against Athletic this weekend. Defence Real Madrid have been rocked by the news that Marcelo has dislocated his shoulder and the … [Read more...]

Real Madrid Probable Lineup vs Granada: Ronaldo and James looking to continue good form

6th February 2016 by sarads

Venue: Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes, Granada Date: 07/02/2016 Kick-off: 07:30 AM GMT / 2:00 PM EST Goalkeeper Keylor Navas had very little to do during Madrid’s 6-0 victory over Espanyol last weekend and with Granada having scored only 24 goals so far this season, the Costa Rican should not be too worried heading into Sunday’s encounter. That said though, Navas cannot afford to be complacent and it will be of paramount importance for the 29-year old to keep full concentration throughout the course of the match in order to avoid a potential upset. Defence The Real Madrid backline seems to have … [Read more...]

Currently in 19th place in the table, José Ramón Sandoval’s men have lost five of their last six La Liga matches and things are already starting to look ominous for the Nazaríes. It is clear that Granada now need to somehow get back to winning ways soon but that will be … [Read more...]

30th January 2016 by sarads

Liverpool are keen on landing the services of former Real Madrid striker Javier Hernandez after their move for Alex Teixeira hits a stumbling block, according to reports from the Times. It is no secret that Liverpool are currently in the market to sign a new striker and Brazilian star Alex Teixeira had been the main target for the Reds. Liverpool star in the same class as Ozil, Silva and Iniesta

29th January 2016 by sarads

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has stated his belief that Liverpool attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino is as good as the trio of Mesut Ozil, David Silva and Andres Iniesta. Roberto Firmino endured a slow start to life at Liverpool since his £29million move from Hoffenheim over the summer but the 24-year old has found his feet at Anfield in recent weeks and has scored a respectable 5 goals in 20 Premier League appearances so far. Slowly but surely, Firmino is becoming an integral part of the Liverpool side and the attacking midfielder is sure to have a crucial role to play if indeed Liverpool … [Read more...]
