Bolton 2-0 Everton Report And Highlights

13th February 2011 by andym

New striker Daniel Sturridge was on target yet again for his new club as his goal helped Bolton Wanderers to a 2-0 home win over Everton this afternoon. The Cottagers took an early-lead through centre back Gary Cahill as he ran clear get on the end of Stuart Holden's free-kick from the left. Everton almost had an immediate response however after Tim Cahill should have levelled the tie after failing to make contact from an impressive Leighton Baines cross. But it was man of the moment Sturridge who netted his third goal in three games by poking home from close-range following a Bolton … [Read more...]

Denmark 1-2 England: Report And Highlights

9th February 2011 by andym

England won a tightly-fought contest in Copenhagen after coming from behind thanks to goals in either half from Darren Bent and Ashley Young. Fabio Capello's men vindicated their last 4-1 defeat over Denmark back in 2005 with a confident display and 2-1 victory in front of their travelling fans at the Parken Stadion tonight. It wasn't all plain sailing for England however as the Danes took a shock lead inside the first 10 minutes after Liverpool defender Daniel Affer beat John Terry to a dangerous in-swinging cross and headed home to make it 1-0 to the home side. The lead didn't last long … [Read more...]

Newcastle Produce Comeback Of The Season In 4-4 Thriller Against Arsenal

5th February 2011 by andym

To anyone that feels like giving up on their team when they look totally dead and buried with seemingly no way back, Newcastle United today showed us in spectacular fashion that when there's a will there's always a way. Newcastle United and Arsenal unarguably contested the game of the season so far in an eight goal thriller which eventually ended 4-4 at St James' Park this afternoon. The visitors Arsenal had a dream start after goals in the first and third minutes from Theo Walcott and Johan Djourou gave Newcastle United a mountain to climb so early on. The Gunners continued to pile on the … [Read more...]

Real Madrid Have It All To Do In La Liga Title Race After Osasuna Defeat

31st January 2011 by andym

The dejected look on Cristiano Ronaldo's face at the final whistle of his Real Madrid side's 1-0 crushing defeat over minnows Osasuna last Sunday told you all you need to know about their waning La Liga title hopes as they slipped 7 points behind fierce rivals Barcelona - sitting comfortably in first place in the La Liga table. Jose Mourinho's side looked average through-out and despite the occasional bit of magic from new German addition Mesut Ozil - the only Madrid player to come out with any credit from the game, Madrid struggled to impose themselves on the match. The loss will come as even … [Read more...]

It was Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid that came out on top this evening in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey Quarter final against local rivals Athletico Madrid. After a lively start it was the visitors Athletico who took a shock lead and silenced the Bernanbau home fans after a Diego Forlan strike early on. 12th January 2011 by andym

Kenny Dalglish or 'King Kenny' as he's affectionately known on Merseyside had a less than pleasing start as his side threw away a one goal lead to lose 2-1 away at Bloomfield Road. Striker DJ Campbell netted the deserved winner in the second half after an extended spell of pressure. Final Score - Blackpool 2-1 Liverpool. See the highlights here! … [Read more...]

Barcelona Dominate In 5-1 La Liga Victory Over Local Rivals Espanyol

19th December 2010 by andym

Barcelona have had a tremendous start to their La Liga campaign this year. Having lost just once, they top the La Liga table by 5 points and have enjoyed a fantastic victory over Castilian enemies Real Madrid along the way. Though no matter how impressive they have been this year,  few still would have expected them to overcome fierce local rivals Espanyol the way they did on Saturday evening in an emphatic 5-1 away victory. Despite goals from Xavi, Pedro and David Villa it was Lionel Messi who once again stole the show as he ripped through the Espanyol defence with devestating effect. … [Read more...]

Bolton Wanderers got back to winning ways after their defeat to Manchester City today as they were narrow 2-1 victors at home to Blackburn Rovers. However it seemed Blackburn had snatched a point late on at the Reebok Stadium through a El-Hadji Diouf.
