According to reports from the Daily Mirror, West Ham United and Newcastle United are currently involved in a battle to sign Jota.
Jota managed to take the Championship by storm after making a return back to Brentford during the January transfer window as he scored a sensational 12 goals in 21 appearances in the Championship.
Due to his fine run of form, Jota has managed to attract the interest from a host of Premier League clubs this summer and West Ham United were recently believed to have placed a bid of around £3million for the attacking midfielder.
The meagre bid was immediately rejected by Brentford as they value the attacker close to £8million and now it looks like West Ham will be facing competition in the race to sign Jota as even Newcastle United are said to have entered the race to recruit the talented Spaniard.
While West Ham view Jota as a potential replacement for Manuel Lanzini, Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is looking to add a bit more flair to his squad and has identified the Brentford man as his ideal target.
