According to reports from Read West Ham, West Ham United’s £3million offer for Spanish attacker Jota has been turned down by Brentford.
West Ham have gone through a major shakeup over the summer and having signed high profile players such as Javier Hernandez, Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta and Marko Arnautovic so far, the Hammers are now focusing their attention towards offloading a few names.
Sofiane Feghouli has widely been tipped to be leaving West Ham in the coming days and if indeed the Algerian international departs, the London side will be looking to bring in a replacement soon.
Brentford attacker Jota has long been mentioned as one of the players West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is looking to sign this summer but the Croatian manager has received some bad news regarding his chase for the Spanish attacker.
Read West Ham claim that the Hammers had placed a bid of around £3million for Jota recently but the offer has swiftly been rejected by Brentford.
West Ham are already said to have agreed personal terms with Jota but Brentford are holding out for around £8million for their star attacking midfielder.

how does one assess the ‘value’ of a player? Surely, it’s not just a guess or a whim? The player must bring value to the club. He/she must provide added value, but they cannot add value on their own, they need the whole team to do this. So would a player be worth more at WHU than one in the Championship (or elsewhere, and even more at Barca?
So I suppose that what is being proposed is that a player is worth £xM IF the rest of the team performs, not something the player has any control over.
