According to reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon, Newcastle United have been handed a huge boost in their hopes of signing Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez.
Newcastle United have endured a largely frustrating period in the summer transfer window so far but manager Rafael Benitez is not giving up on his hopes of strengthening the Magpies squad before the end of the month and the 57-year-old is currently said to be looking to use his Spanish contacts to get some astute deals done.
Benitez has already signed Mikel Merino recently while the likes of Angel Correa, Joselu and Adrian continue to be strongly linked with a move to St. James’ Park in recent times.
However, the link which has excited the Newcastle fans the most is the one regarding Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez and now according to reports from Don Balon, the Magpies have seemingly been handed a huge boost in their hopes of signing the Spanish international.
It has been claimed that Vazquez is open to joining Newcastle as he is said to be eyeing up regular first team football this season in order to earn a place in the Spanish national team for next year’s World Cup in Russia and with Real Madrid currently pursing Kylian Mbappe, the 26-year-old feels that he may be surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu.
