Barcelona icon Ronaldinho has hailed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli for his stunning strike against Crystal Palace last season.
Ronaldinho is arguably one of the most skillful players to have graced football and given his stunning abilities, it is probably very difficult to impress the Brazilian legend.
Therefore when Ronaldinho speaks about stunning goals, everyone should listen and the ex-Barcelona superstar has gone on to deliver high words of praise for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli’s goal against Crystal Palace last season.
Controlling the ball in the air, Alli bamboozled a Palace defender with an immaculate flick before rifling in a brilliant volley into the net on the turn and the strike was later voted as Tottenham’s goal of the season.
Now even Ronaldinho has gone on to express his admiration for Alli’s brilliant effort and has admitted that the goal was somewhat he would have liked to score.
Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, he said, “I saw Dele Alli’s goal last year and it looked like a goal I would like to score – there is just no explanation for goals like that. It’s thrilling to inspire someone to score such a great goal; I can barely put it into words.”
