Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho has told FourFourTwo that he aspires to become as accomplished a player as Barcelona superstar Neymar.
Philippe Coutinho has developed fantastically well since joining Liverpool from Inter Milan during the January transfer window of 2013 and there is no doubting the fact that the Brazilian international is one of the best attackers in the Premier League at the moment.
Despite his wonderful talents though, Coutinho is a player who is always striving for improvement and the Liverpool star has now gone on to state that he wants to reach the heights that compatriot Neymar has done in his career as a player.
The 24-year-old explained that Neymar is an idol to young kids in Brazil and stated that the Barcelona superstar is a ‘mirror of the player’ he eventually wants to become.
Coutinho, told FourFourTwo (via the Daily Star), “If you see the football he plays for Brazil and Barcelona… Wow, it’s just really inspiring.
“Neymar is our main idol in Brazilian football and he’s someone young kids look up to. He’s the best player and, for me, he is a mirror of the player that I want to be. He is a close friend of mine and it’s great to have a team-mate I admire who’s the same age as me.”
Coutinho in his own right is a fantastic talent and with his will to improve, there is no reason why the ex-Inter Milan man cannot become a superstar himself.
