Spanish giants Barcelona are set to beat Premier League outfit Everton in the race to secure the services of Colombian international Davinson Sanchez, according to reports from the Sun.
Davinson Sanchez joined Ajax Amsterdam from Atletico Nacional over the summer and in the space of just six months, the young defender has managed to catch the eye of some of the best clubs in the world following wonderful performances for the Eredivisie giants this season so far.
It is widely expected that Sanchez will be subjected to numerous bids during the upcoming January transfer window and Barcelona and Everton were mentioned as the two teams very keen on signing the Colombian international.
Now in the development to the story, the Sun have gone on to claim that Barcelona are in pole position to secure the services of Sanchez and that Everton are most likely to miss out on the youngster.
Ajax coach Tonny Bruins told the Sun regarding the prospective transfer, “Barca are lucky because otherwise Davinson Sanchez would already be playing at Everton under the orders of Ronald Koeman, who is enthusiastic about the boy. He has personally confirmed this to me on several occasions.”
