Liverpool are involved in a head to head battle to secure the services of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to reports from the Metro.
Liverpool are in the market to sign a new striker in January and with the window set to slam shut soon, the Reds are expected to ramp up their pursuit for top targets in the coming days.
The likes of Alvaro Morata and Alex Teixeira have been mentioned as the two main targets for Liverpool but now according to reports from the Metro, it has been claimed that the Reds are also plotting an ambitious move to sign Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has been linked with a move to Liverpool over the last few months, largely because of the arrival of former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp to Anfield but it seemed like the Reds would be unable to sign the Polish superstar due to their current struggles.
As a result, Real Madrid had been seen as the more likely destination for Lewandowski but now the Metro claim that Liverpool have not given up on their hopes of signing the superstar and are readying a £75million bid in order to get the deal done.
