Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi is widely expected to claim the Balon d’Or award in the gala which is set to take place in Zurich on Monday and his wonderful performance in Barcelona’s 4-0 victory over Granada served to show exactly why.
Messi was simply sensational on the day and managed to fire three past the hapless Granada backline. The Argentine genius has been delivering such majestic performances on a consistent basis throughout 2015 and there is no doubt whatsoever that he deserves the title as the ‘Best Player in the World’.
Arda Turan
Following a mediocre debut for Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey against Espanyol, Arda Turan managed to show his class to the Nou Camp faithful in his La Liga bow for the giants by putting in a very good performance in the encounter with Granada.
It took Arda only eight minutes to register an assist after setting up Lionel Messi wonderfully before the Turkish star put in a top notch performance throughout the course of the game.
Possessing skill, hunger and desire, Turan looks a perfect foil for the talented trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez and the 28-year old is already looking like a very good signing for Barcelona.
Sergi Roberto
With the fixtures coming in thick and fast, manager Luis Enrique decided to rest key man Sergio Busquets and award young Sergi Roberto a chance to make a start against Granada. As it has been the case so often, Roberto certainly did not disappoint by putting in a top quality performance on the day.
Almost akin to Busquets, Roberto displayed wonderful positional awareness, passing and ball retention throughout the game and although his contribution to the victory has been overshadowed by Messi, Luis Enrique would most certainly have been pleased with the youngster’s display.
