The Strongest Possible Lineup for Real Madrid against Rayo Vallecano
Formation – 4-3-3
Goalkeeper
Keylor Navas started the campaign very strongly but his performances in recent matches have not been overly impressive.
Nonetheless, Benitez is expected to persist with Navas and the Costa Rican will be hopeful of claiming a first clean sheet in La Liga since November.
Defence
With Dani Carvajal and Raphael Varane still out injured, there is unlikely to be too many changes from the defensive lineup which started in the loss against Villarreal last time out.
Danilo will be continuing in the right back position while the centre back duo of Pepe and Sergio Ramos will continue at the heart of the backline. Marcelo will complete the back four by starting in the left full back position.
Midfield
Casimero was handed a chance to start at the middle of the park in the clash against Villarreal last time out but it looks very likely that the Brazilian will be making way for either Toni Kroos or Mateo Kovacic this weekend.
Luka Modric will be continuing in the starting lineup as usual and it seems like Gareth Bale will once again be handed a role as the central attacking midfielder behind the three attackers.
Attack
Despite their toothless display against Villarreal, the superstar trio of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez will be lining up in attack for Real Madrid.
Ronaldo in particular will be under the spotlight after failing to hit a single shot on target during the clash and the Portuguese superstar will surely be keen on bouncing back with a couple of goal against the leaky backline of Rayo Vallecano.
Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Keylor Navas, Danilo, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Modric, James, Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale
