Last week it was reported that Tottenham Hotspur had abandoned their chase for West Bromwich Albion’s England international striker Saido Berahino but things have taken a dramatic turn as the North London club have now returned with a firm £15 million bid according to The Daily Telegraph.
Tony Pulis had already pushed back a flurry of offers from Spurs throughout the summer but it seems that Daniel Levy and his men finally have the required funds to complete the transfer following the sale of misfiring striker Roberto Soldado to Villareal.
Spurs have also completed the transfer of highly rated Cameroonian striker Clinton Njie from French side Lyon this week and it appears they are now trying to close the deal for Berahino in the following weeks to come.
There has been a definite emphasis on signing new strikers during this transfer window at Spurs following the disappointing performances of high wage earners like Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor over the past 2 seasons.
