SPL champions Celtic could be set to reignite their interest in Elche forward Jonathas.
It is reported that the 26-year-old failed to attend a medical test with his club ahead of the new La Liga campaign.
Celtic’s contact with the Spanish club has subsided of late, however this revelation could encourage Celtic to make a move.
When on form, Jonathas has proved himself to be a handful in La Liga.
The Brazilian is strong, fast, and has a lethal finish, yet his inconsistency means any club willing to pay money for him would be taking a gamble.
Jonathas is currently on loan at Elche, from his parent club Pescara, and from the striker’s point of view, a move to the Scottish champions would be an attractive move considering he has failed to settle in Italy and Spain in recent years.
His physicality means he would adapt easily to Scottish football, and would likely compliment Celtic’s striking options, as they attempt to retain the title this coming season.
