Radamel Falcao to Real Madrid rumors are gaining more and more credibility as the transfer window nears to a close. Real Madrid are keen to add another ‘Galactico’ to their ranks, as well as a perfect associate to James Rodriguez up front. Both players have enjoyed success at Porto and the Colombian national team leading both respective attacks. The addition of Falcao would surely make Real contenders on all fronts as if they weren’t already.
Falcao, 28, was the hottest striker on the market this time last year, but a torn ACL saw him miss a great part of last season as well as the World Cup for Colombia. AS Monaco FC splashed the cash on him last summer when they acquired him from Atletico Madrid for a sum of £50 million.
The Colombian is the complete striker. Falcao has great technique, a powerful shot, excels in the air thanks to his height, strong, fast, and is able to play with his back to goal as well as make incisive runs. He’s the kind of striker that can create chances and make his own, but above all finish. Falcao’s scoring record is one of the best in Europe and that’s exactly what Madrid hope to gain with him: goals. Falcao is also keen to rejoin Rodriguez after Rodriguez has expressed his desire to have his national teammate playing alongside him. There has also been past reports in which Falcao has made it known that he wishes to play for ‘los Blancos’.
Real Madrid has competition for Falcao’s signature as Chelsea’s Diego Costa is out for an undetermined amount of time. Arsenal, Juventus, and Milan have also been potential destinations for Falcao. He has just returned from injury, but is already showing glimpses of his form before the injury. Falcao has scored two goals this season so far. He would be perfect competition for Benzema and will no doubt add quality to this stacked Real Madrid side.
According to Calcio Mercato, Real Madrid have struck a deal with Monaco for 20 million euros for the season long loan of Falcao. This is yet to be confirmed by either club, but it seems there will be a new ‘Galactico’ in the coming hours.
