It’s been the usual January transfer window in Spain. Lots of rumour, but little action until the last day. We are now approaching the deadline, and deal making will be frantically taking place behind the scenes. La Liga Blog will bring you live reports on any big transfers that happen this evening. Be sure to keep your eyes on this site from 8pm.
Let’s assess the likelihood of transfers between Spanish and English teams:
Fabio Coentrao to Manchester United:
David Moyes is desperate to sign a left-back before the deadline, but it seems more likely that Milan will snatch the Real Madrid defender. 5
Alvaro Morata to Arsenal:
Noises from the Bernabeu say that Ancelotti is prepared to let his young forward go out on loan until the season ends. But will Wenger make the move? 7
Sergio Canales to Fulham:
Valencia are ready to cut their losses on the injury prone midfielder. Everton wanted him, but Fulham are ready with hard cash. A likely deal. 9
Saul Niguez to Liverpool:
Liverpool are desperate to land their man. Saul is a bright prospect, and his ability to play in a holding or attacking role appeals to Brendan Rodgers. It could go down to the wire. 8
Alberto Moreno to Manchester United:
If Moyes can’t land Coentrao or Luke Shaw, expect him to snap up his third choice left back. The likeliest of all his options. 9
Cristiano Tello to Arsenal
Another young striker linked with Arsenal. Barcelona are prepared to offer him another chance, but will he try to force a move to the Emirates? A loan deal possible. 6
Lionel Messi to Manchester City
Sorry City fans, even the Sheikhs aren’t ready to splash out €250m. Yet! 0
