Arsenal and England legend David Seaman perhaps pulled off one of the greatest saves of all time in his Arsenal side’s FA Cup Semi-final tie against Sheffield United back in 2003.
When the Blades striker Paul Peschisolido was found inside the 6-yard box with the goal at his mercy it seemed his side had snatched a late equaliser in the cup tie to take the match at Highbury into extra time. Despite a well-directed header that seemed to have Seaman beat, the 39 year-old pulled off a phonomenal amount of agillity and was able to claw the goal-bound header off the line. With Arsenal’s recent array of not so successful keepers it seems the search to find David Seaman’s permenant replacement still goes on.

Mark Woolnough says
Seaman’s was a good save but its not the greatest. The Greatest save ever was Jimmy Montgomery’s for Sunderland in the 1973 FA Cup Final. Even the commentator on the day was convinced Leeds had scored.
It wasn’t just the save its what it meant in the whole context of the game and the shock waves that it sent around English football at that time.
