Blackpool will be looking for a result to help their Premier League survival bid as they take on current title holders Chelsea at Bloomfield Road this evening.
The last time these two sides met in September Chelsea were resounding 4-0 winners at Stamford Bridge but the Seasiders can still remain optimisitc having claimed notable victories over other Premier League titans including Liverpool and Spurs.
Ian Holloway’s men will have to make do without the services of Charlie Adam and DJ Campbell (both suspended) whilst new Brazilian defender David Luiz looks unlikely to make an appearance for the Blues with a hamstring injury.
The focus however will be on £50 million-rated striker Fernando Torres who has yet to open his scoring account for Chelsea since his arrival in January.
Blackpool boss Holloway stated his side were ‘light-years away’ from Chelsea following their Premier League defeat in September but since then the Blues have spent a further £70 million on big-name acquisitions such as Torres and Luiz.
Should the Seasiders come out on top this evening it will be their first home win over Chelsea in 46 years.
