After a momentous week in Europe it’s back to domestic duties for Tottenham Hotspur as they face Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night.
Tottenham Hotspur recorded a memorable 1-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League last week but tomorrow night a result against Blackpool will be much sought after in their bid to secure Champions League football for another season under Harry Redknapp.
Spurs currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, just two points from a 5th placed Chelsea and a win will be needed to help ease the pressure from the Blues – a side who have massively under-performed since the departure of Ray Wilkins in 2010.
Star man Rafael van der Vart will play no part in the fixture Tuesday night with a calf injury and furthermore defenders Johnathan Woodgate and Cedran Corluka will miss the match after sustaining injuries in Milan last week.
Opponents Blackpool currently have no injury concerns to report and they themselves will have every reason to get a result after failing to record a Premier League win in the last five games. Blackpool have collapsed recently following an uncharacterisitically strong start to the season as they have failed to pick up victory at home since January’s 2-1 win over Liverpool.
